How To

How to make an omelet that is perfect

Omelets are my favorite breakfast dish. But how do they turn out so perfectly? There are many recipes and methods I tried, but none worked. Today, I'd like to share some tips with you in order to make delicious and fluffy omelets every day.

First, eggs can be very temperamental ingredients for making omelets. The eggs must be fresh from an organic source and kept at room temperature until they are ready to be cooked. The yolks and whites will not form properly if they aren't kept cold enough. This causes your omelets to look oddly colored. If you want to make omelets right away, it's best not to use eggs that are too cold.

Another tip is to separate each egg before adding them to the saucepan. Because this could cause your omelet to become curdled, you don't want any yolk to be mixed with any white.

You could end up burning the bottom half of the egg if the egg is added directly to the heat source. Instead, put the egg in the microwave for 10 seconds before putting it into the pan. The heat from the microwave cooks the egg just enough without overcooking it.

Next, let's talk about mixing the eggs. When you mix eggs together, you want to beat them well. To do this, take the bowl from the mixer and flip it upside-down. Now shake the bowl vigorously. This will whip the air around the bowl and mix the egg well.

The fun part is now - adding the milk to the mixture. Pour half the milk into the beaten egg mixture and then fold in the eggs. Do not be alarmed if there are still egg streaks visible. Once the omelet flips, these streaks will disappear.

After you have folded your eggs, heat up the oil on medium heat. Wait for it to get hot. When the oil is hot enough, add 1/4 cup butter to the pan. Stir it around until the butter covers the entire pan. Now carefully crack open the lid of the pan and sprinkle salt into the pan. The salt will help to prevent the omelet's sticking to the pan.

Cover the pan once the omelet is formed and allow it to cool completely. Flip the omelet by using a spatula. Cook the second side for a minute or so. Remove the omelet from the pan and serve immediately.

This recipe works best when you use whole milk.
